Eager Friday
Friday started and I could feel that I was at the end of something. I didn’t know why but had a feeling that things were about to wrap up and start a new chapter. The usual morning routine and usual morning breakfast started my day. I had some juice along side my water and made sure to fill my thermos to the top. I was keen to stay well hydrated today.
I started thinking about my afternoon plans as I sat down for work and in hindsight I probably shouldn’t have. I reviewed some files and got prepared for the first meeting of the day. The customers talked for nearly triple their allotted time and we ran long too. It was a long and painful meeting, only because I was yearning to do other things. And they talked about canola a lot, the other crop that I don’t really work with. During the call I setup the release of my last winter seed item that is getting planted. The end of my marathon, gruelling spring was finally here! Also making it tough was that the DnD gang was asking some questions and having some dialogue about topics pertaining to the game. I was trying to ignore them but got swept in and ended up doing some rolling to help figure some stuff out. It was during canola parts, relax! That meeting ran into the next one, which went incredibly fast with interesting and engaging discussion. I had a quick chat with a colleague after and then I was free. I ripped down to the kitchen to make a late lunch, it was nearly two at this point of the day. I had a can of Campbell’s Chunky Chicken and Rice soup and extra water. My next move was supposed to be to cut the grass. Instead I found myself on my bed playing HomeScapes and listening to my audiobook. Then I feel asleep. I’m not sure how long I napped exactly but I woke up to a raging thunderstorm. That is disorienting and a bit scary. It was around five. So much for the lawn plans. I headed to the kitchen but instead of making the intimidating gnocchi I was supposed to, I bailed and had some chips, cookies and a granola bar. Just a pile of garbage for dinner. It was after six when I’d finished grazing and I went back to the Mini for some YouTube. Then audiobook later in the evening. It was half nine when I passed out, waking up a few hours later for a few minutes before being dragged back under. My hellacious spring was over. My big meetings were over. My document preparation was all but over. I felt like I’d moved past something and could really relax and enjoy myself, and in this instance, that meant sleeping.
