Mixed Monday
Late start from late night. I awoke to some tragic news, a friend and colleague’s father had passed away in the night after a long battle with illness. He asked a few of us to cover for him this week and I’ll gladly do that. I try to be there for a friend in need, it’s ingrained in my definition of friendship. After letting that news sink in, I needed to get moving and I needed the quicker option for breakfast today so a short stack of eggos was employed to fill the void. Tasty and quicker. I was in my chair by ten after eight. Work was a Monday.
Started with a meeting then had a half hour before the next meeting and so on. This was the pattern of the day. The middle meetings were with smaller groups and more lively. I had lunch sandwiches between these. It consisted of leftovers from the previous night. I called the Chef as I ate and he was also eating. He got his vaccine earlier in the day and I wanted to hear about it. He was pretty excited about getting the first dose. While crushing my leftovers and chatting I noticed I had a successful week last week with the meal board. My strategy changed to making meals I normally would but simply scheduling them, is that appropriate? Mother wants me to be more adventurous and eat better.
The afternoon was more of the same. I chatted with a colleague after the last meeting for a bit. Nice to just laugh. I had been needling people all day to get my last two items shipped and we got right to the finish line and stopped to make sure we had all the paperwork. So close. By the time my day ended it was twenty to six. I put down half five in my notes, that’s how you balance a late a start, I always put in the time. Dinner was perogies. Cooked in the air fryer. Quick and easy. I also cooked a sack of tots for later use. There was some YouTube on the living room TV and then I returned to my office. I checked the weather and did some shopping at Sysco. I required some sausage rounds for the breakfast samidges, I only had enough for one more day. I booked an appointment to pick them up in a couple days. I also booked my vaccine appointment. With the gates opening from 40+ to 18+ in the morning I wanted to get something before it’s flooded. I got Wednesday the 26th by booking in the next town over. My local clinic was booked into June already. That is big news. I also learned that the paperwork on the last bit of seed was done. And I’d heard some of my soybean items from winter were ahead of schedule. So things were looking pretty sunny by the time I was ready for bed. And the forecast was the same! Beautiful weather to come and hopefully good times along with it.
