Tunes-day

This Tuesday started off like countless others. Woke up, fooled in time until half seven and then scrambled to get to work for eight. I made it, traffic was quiet. I had an hour to get my affairs in order before the start of our national strategy meeting. It is the virtual version of last year’s trip to Lake Louise. Lots of general knowledge material. Some higher up folks showing support for our business, that kind of thing. It made the morning go by really quickly and I got to sit in my comfy chair so I was happy. Lunch was later than usual with so many time zones involved in the meeting. I warmed up four sausage rounds and combined them with some jalapeño havarti cheese between a couple of cheese bagels. It sounds delicious on paper but it sat like a lead balloon in my guts and generally made me feel unsettled. We had a short presentation that I tried to watch on the iPad but the sound didn’t work for most of it. After that was a team building activity. I signed up for painting. My logic was that I wanted to have something tangible at the end of it. I’d already done mixology and cheese making sounded like a process. I was asked to name my favourite animal suspecting that’s what I’d be painting. I got a package last week with a small canvas and some paints and brushes. I had to cover the back of the tracing page with graphite from a pencil then trace the lines to get a rough outline. Then I had to learn to mix colours. That aspect I am not good at. It was Zoom based and being in the iPad in the kitchen meant I couldn’t see everyone outside of the break out rooms. It was of no matter. I was fully consumed by the task at hand. It was fun and challenging. Turns out the tiger I selected is one of the harder ones to paint, lion being the other because of the detail in the mane. We are supposed to email in a picture before Feb 16 for some grand purpose. I hope I finish by then. For now I’m partially done and worried I’m slowly ruining it. Here is the progress so far.

After that harrowing experience I did my best to clean up properly and avoid any permanent messes. I checked the whiteboard for my meal and it was sausage burrito bowl. I took two hot Italian sausages and opened them up to be browned off. While that was happening some minute rice enjoyed the microwave. I had some leftover corn and black beans from last weeks burrito efforts. These things I combined in a bowl when they were cooked along with some smashed bacon that I’d cooked last week. Salsa to taste and top with some cilantro and cheese. Looks good but tastes better. I ate one portion and stored the other for later. Next I did my MSC challenges and general interneting before switching to YouTube and my bed. I crawled into it at eight and last saw 10:20pm before waking hours later. Pretty sure there was dozing ahead of the main event too. Not a bad day.
