Self-indulgent Saturday
Saturday was not exactly about living my best life. I started the day by lingering in bed, something that has become more normal as the weeks of lockdown turned into months. I got myself cleaned up to face the day and broke my fast with a handful of Au Gratin chips and a couple of full slugs of water. After such a nutritious breakfast I tackled my MSC challenges and then dabbled in a Musing of the previous night’s meal. I kept the A/V train chugging by editing a couple of videos and posting them on YouTube. The first one is a collection of clips and stills from the previous night’s meal. I started filming it initially as a gag to make about hammering chicken but it expanded from there. I hope you enjoy.
The second video was just a quick time lapse of me finishing the painting a while back. By the time things were up and correctly posted it was lunch time and I warmed up some leftovers. I used the air fryer to reheat the chicken and it makes a noticeable difference. I think I was able to effectively re-create the dinner from the previous night.
After cleaning up my mess I returned to my computer and started playing Red Alert for the first time in months. It was a good time. I would have liked to read a book but I didn’t have one going so I reverted to my audiobook and sort of faded out into a quick nap. When I woke I felt like I needed to take on a productive project so I shovelled off part of the deck and created a trail to the bird feeder. I used this path to access it and refill it so the birds have a reliable food source through the winter months. I also tidied up the kitchen more and cleaned up some in the living room. Around half four I dusted the remainder of the bag of chips as a form of dinner and did something even more problematic. At five I unwrapped Farming Simulator 2019. This is something that I’ve been carefully avoiding since I got it for Christmas (at my request) a couple years ago. I had played the 2015 version on PC and had issues. I started playing immediately and didn’t stop. I ended up watching the Leaf game on the Mini. That’s how you know the game is problematic. I started with €99k and dipped down with equipment purchases and got myself back up close to the starting point by 1am. Went to bed shortly after. Yikes.
