Chill Fail
Today I spent the entire day consuming. I consumed one and a bit audiobooks. I consumed a lot of food I wish I hadn’t. I consumed some NHL20 hours. I consumed some Microsoft Solitaire Collection. But it wasn’t all consumption, I did give back some. I streamed my computer card playing on my Twitch channel. Ya, I have one of those now and I’ve figured out how to use it. I decided that for awhile, I’ll try streaming my daily challenge completion in Microsoft Solitaire Collection. This is a hobby I took on a couple of years ago that I find enjoyable and challenging. I don’t have a schedule for it so I’m on there at random times, generally in the evening after work. All of this was done while listening to the Pitticus Lore novels, aka James Frey (the Million Little Pieces fraudster) about the Lorien Legacies. It’s entertaining, unfortunately the books are somewhat short. Another challenging part of binging audiobooks is the choice of activity. You can’t listen to them while watching anything else or reading. I decided at one point in the afternoon that I would sit outside in the sun and listen. I figured this would let me test the comfort of my new chair and get acclimatized to the roaring heat of spring/summer that I’ve been avoiding. The chair turns out to be more flimsy than advertised and not all that comfy. While I was out there trying to enjoy my book, I could hear the neighbours a couple houses down having a little get together. Seemed like they had another couple over. From what I can tell, it was an overnight visit. They were all hammered and very loud, trying to talk over one another. This happens while drunk sometimes. And drunk happens sometimes while enjoying a perfect afternoon with some drinks. But the problem here is that I’m not sure our government recommendations and regulations allow for this right now while the world is closed. I honestly don’t know and haven’t had occasion to find out, I’m in full lockdown mode still. Taking the virus very seriously still. Not many people are bothering now, which is frustrating because number of daily cases is not decreasing anymore. We have zero in our town but that could change quickly again. I’m not sure what to think except they were so loud that I couldn’t hear my book over them, even at full speed. I’ll try relaxing out there another time then.
