Fixin’ Kitchen
I’d done a bit of a backslide lately on the culinary front. It has been a very long spell since I knuckles down and put something proper together in the kitchen. I was looking around in the freezer and decided that I could either eat a bag of fries or I could use the chicken I made back in April and do something better. I’ve also been accumulating some thawed meats in the fridge so I figured I could cook those and have something ready for a quick meal. I cooked up the last of the bacon that was in the fridge, and the ground beef. I warmed the chicken up and cut it up. I steamed a bag of veggies the old school way and found some left over orange ginger sauce from my pork chop meal weeks ago. My pan had a layer of grease from the bacon and burger so I dropped my chicken and veg down on it. Once everyone was warmed up I added the sauce and stirred it around, frying the food. The end result was some kind of stir-fry preparation. You are thinking to yourself, wow, that looks much healthier than the garbage he usually cooks up. Well, the veg was over a year old. The sauce has been open for weeks. The chicken was cooked two Sundays previously. The healthiest meal I’ve had all week might very well be the most dangerous to me. It’s fun how that works eh? Don’t judge the book by the cover. Just wait until you see what I’m planning for the rest of the meat.
