The New Supplier

Today was the big day, the day I got to pickup my order from Sysco. I mentioned previously that I had put in an order with this restaurant food distributor after learning from the Chef that they are offering this service. They have an extensive amount of offerings. It took me almost 25 minutes to surf through their list and I know I missed a bunch of stuff. Chef and I were after the sausage rounds. The ever elusive rounds, we finally tracked down a source of them. They look quite similar, I’ll find out tomorrow if the taste is close to the Great Value branded ones. The order process was easy to navigate on their site. The pickup itself was even easier. I had to select a day and time for a set list and I rolled up as a guy came out. I rolled down the window and gave him my order number and he put the boxes in the back of my truck. Of course I had to get out and open the roll top. Nobody seems to be able to understand how to work one of those. I got the loot home and wiped it all down.

Next I had to breakdown the packages. It turns out that I thought I was ordering five pounds of tater tots but the case holds six of those packages. Whoops, I have a lot of tots now. Don’t worry, I can sell some off to reclaim freezer space. The burgers are thinner than I thought but there wasn’t a massive stack of them to deal with, they slid quietly into the drawer. The precious rounds were just in one bag, all loose. I broke those down into smaller freezer bags, 49 in each. Supposed to be 100 count. Anyways, the freezer is at capacity at the moment and I regret nothing!
