Voyage to the Nasty Party
Over the weekend was the Marty Party. It was pretty upscale, much more than any other bachelor party I have attended. It was all very in hand, nothing got out of control I would say, only three people vomited for different reasons. I guess, I will tell my side of the story here in what hopefully amounts to a fair short recap. To begin, I was ironing out work stuff early in the day on Friday then jumped into my truck, the old one, not the new, and headed to my old town, the Royal City. I met a colleague for a lunch and also book exchange. She returned the first two GoT books to me and I provided her with the fourth. She's cruising through them at a good rate. We had burritos. Mine was in the traditional format, hers in a bowl. But that is more detail than is necessary. I got on my way and after sitting in traffic and warning She (also travelling to the nation's capital on separate business) I was free to complete my journey. I spent over an hour talking to GRP over the phone about various things. We touched on the always controversial subject of the ill-fated Episode 64, Trump stuff, and climate change. There was no mention of the upcoming Conversation that he and I are planning. The party over the weekend was in his honour but nobody seemed to know if he knew about it so I treaded lightly on my I was driving to Ottawa at the time. Implied I was going to build a trade show booth completely from Lego to support a new business alliance my company had made with the good people at the Lego company. At last I arrived at the country estate manor of Dutchie and Admiral Bonesaw. It seems like I'm there every two weeks! We exchanged pleasantries and barbs and headed for our dinner at the CHA tea house. It was an interesting and tasty meal that left us full and sleepy. To counter that, we watched Mike Birbiglia's new special on the Netflix until overcome with sleep. We tried to watch a Latino lady do the same but we were all too tired to forge onward. The Admiral and I were up early and made ready to meet the Beer Guy for a vehicle switch before introducing ourselves to the cast and crew of the Nasty Party over breakfast. I'll deliver the next part of the story in the next post, stay tuned!
