June has come in like a lion! One thing after another after another. Does it work like March? Is it going to be super fun at the end? Probably, we'll have a long weekend to close out the month. Those usually are fun. I currently don't have any semblance of a plan for July 1st, the day my nation celebrates it's birth. In fact I have been fairly scant on the planning of things this summer. I have a pair of weddings to attend and a family weekend that is happening but other than that I've kept my social calendar pretty open. The only personal weekend I've got on the books is the infamous DW2016. Dudes Weekend 2016. Apparently there is a need to label or brand everything in today's society so it got the moniker. As annoying as that is, it actually makes it pretty convenient, when you say DW2016 or DW16 everyone involved knows to what weekend you're referring to. Although I have been and continue to be asked the dates of said weekend an uncomfortable amount of times. Either way, that's the only thing I've schemed up. I may go to Collingwood at some point to visit the two little goons that call that municipality home. Last year it was in September that I ventured up there, probably will do it sooner this year. Not locked in to a wedding date or anything this time. I learned over the last winter that it is very important, if not critical to keep things plugged into the calendar to look forward to. It makes the rest of the days go by smoother, less intimidating when you have something to look forward to. I trust that is just how our brains perceive things. A built in ability to break time down into rationalized chunks. Think of it this way, since I don't even understand what I'm writing, you have something that you're looking forward to doing or experiencing on Friday night but it's only Wednesday. You have 2+ days of undesirable future to traverse until you arrive where you want to be in space-time. So you tell yourself, only 2 more days. And furthermore, you can say only 2 more hours on a given day as you know that once that undesirable section of time has been passed through, things will get better, even if only marginally and ultimately you will be closer to where you want to be. The brain just does that. It helps. Probably how some of you are reading this and noticing that there is only a small chunk left and relief is sweeping over you. Anyways, it's a real thing, get into it.
