It's Been Awhile
I'm not intentionally quoting Staind with that title but I suppose it pretty much works out that way. It has been a long spell since I was at this regular. I'm not sure why, I have no excuse. But that being said I don't offer any apology either. After all, this is free and you don't apologize when you don't show up to read it. In fact, other than Sundays, I'm pretty confident that I'm the only daily visitor. I can't outright prove that but it seems to have gone that way. Don't take this as an excuse but I think life has gotten in the way. I have had to be busy in the evening through the week. I got about half or more of my flowers planted and thriving. I even got my treasured lavender. I had to recruit the assistance of my kid that used to work in a greenhouse to help me score that one. I'll just have to wait for it to come into bloom. I have a solid but small collection of flowers going back there now. Something for the precious bees to eat. Work is chugging along, we're tackling each task as it comes up. It seems like it will be a steady summer this go around. The weekend came and went. I didn't do much except unplug my brain and enjoy a nice senseless day or so of ignorant bliss. I used some of the time to do the dreaded chores like wash the bed, clean the toilets and vacuum the stairs. A recent poll cited toilet cleaning as the worst but I'm still thinking that vacuuming carpeted stairs is the absolute worst. I can't stand it. I get super sweaty doing it, always have, even when I was in excellent physical condition. I'm saying cardiovascularly and pulmonarily. Not exact my actual physical shape which trends toward round. This isn't always literal! Stay with me people. Anyways, yeah, hate the toilets too but there is something to show for it at least, the sparkly white of a clean pot. Then you befoul it the first time you use it and it's all downhill from there again. Things of note.....hmmmm. Okay, I toured my new boss through my farm yesterday, that was pretty good. We had dinner at Fionn's and who should I run into there but Brown and She. It was nice to quickly catch up with them. They had spirited some cake from somewhere and wanted me to join in consuming it but I got in my black chariot and made for the horizon before I could give into such temptation. As you may have guessed, I made my return to Guelph. First time since March, I think that was the longest I had ever been away from her. Another longest is that my hair is the longest it has ever been. I'm sprinting toward ponytail country. Will he or won't he? I guess time will tell. Hope to be back tomorrow, and if not then doing something pretty cool.
