The End is Nigh
I know I have been "sky is falling" for a few days but today we can truly end our battle with planting at work. I still have personal planting to do, and it appears I will have a chance to do it before mid-June this year. That will be a change. Maybe there will be some good plants left for me to choose from for once. Last year I barely got my fern and had to settle pretty hard on some annuals that thrive in the baking sun. Personally, I'd like to get some lavender and make a whole big pot of lavender. I love the rich purple colour. Maybe in a past life I was a royal who draped purple silk over my shoulders. Silk is a nice fabric but not super practical. I know it is comfortable from an experiment I had in high school where I purchased silk boxers but I'm not sure it's for me. Maybe I'd be better suited for something a little more substantial. And there would definitely be a wolf skin draped across my shoulders. That would probably happen even for the summer months. Anyways, enough about regal purple, except to say that I'd like lavender. I tried to plant a bunch from seed last year. It took me several stores to find it. I planted it out and it never really looked right, I was worried when it didn't bloom then I realized that it wasn't lavender at all. It was rosemary. I was bamboozled by the seed supplier. They mislabeled my package. So we'll see what this earlier spring holds for me. But slaying the planting dragon is the obstacle before I can focus on my own life. I've found the last chip in its scales and have to drive the spear home, slaying it for this year. Or at least wounding it severely so it has to take the rest of the year to re-cooperate and be ready to battle me again next spring.
