Rain
I looked at the site metrics. There was good play last weekend but all week it has only been one or two people who have stopped by. I don't know who it is but one person seems to consistently pop in each day. Two Glasses of Wine was suspected to be that person but recent evidence has shown that not to be the case. So I tip my cap to the mystery, daily checker, keep checking, some days you will be rewarded. With that taken care of I can get into the nitty gritty of the week. Really dig into the details. Nah, just kidding, I know no one but me cares that much about what I do. Some of the pertinent highlights for this forum include: we're about 80% done planting corn now, I finally got to watch Deadpool (which was as good as I hoped), and we had a safety lunch at work. If you're wondering, safety lunch is when we conduct a lengthy and dry safety meeting at our sites and ask all kinds of questions and put people on the spot then reward the kids by paying for lunch. The whole process leading up to lunch is unpleasant for all of us, but a necessary evil in our industry. Did you know, that as of 2011, agriculture is the second most dangerous industry behind mining? Well it is, I'm not sure what the parameters are or the location that data was gathered or what constitutes danger but like most of you, I'll just take that internet fact at face value and regurgitate it all over the internet to my friends. I've already done some posting on critical thinking in the past so I won't nag. But I will say that the lunch aspect of the endeavour was satisfied by sushi. When you take a group of motivated, competitive people to sushi things can get weird. Let's just say it was adventurous and I had already planned on them being nearly useless to me when we returned to work. Another reason that such things are best saved for a Friday, well any day that it's too wet to work outside really. Near the end of the meal I ate a fish. They brought out an entire fish with some teriyaki sauce on it. Only two of us would try it and the other girl just had one bite. I had to pick through some bones, so what. That comes with the territory when you are eating pike. We all had fun and learned a few things about safety. I had to give them a job where they could remain seated for the rest of the day. There were many groans and burps, so perfect afternoon. Other than those few highlights, it was a pretty busy week, standard fare for planting season. In early, re-fill all the consumables and hit the road to get something planted somewhere. Get back just ahead of dusk and put it all away, ready for the next day's adventure. Good times. But that was the week as it happened. Now that it's raining and cold I'm going to have a longer weekend, the full two days almost! I will probably post some more content. Speaking of which, if you haven't noticed, I posted a short story in the archives section that I encourage you to read. If you like it, please press like at the end. If I get more than ten likes I'll keep doing stuff like that. So probably not have to worry....
