Hybrid Day
I was right. I called it. I know me better than anyone else on the planet. I did have a hybrid day, part frenetic accomplishing and then part unbridled leisure. I got laundry done, vacuumed, even some dusting. I finished sorting things in my office and filing away all my pertinent documents of 2015. It was a whirlwind morning fueled off two pieces of pizza. It was not a delight however. The meal of garbage food from the previous evening has left me with a feeling of almost being hung out. I very much had to power through using water as my crutch. Perhaps I went too long into the day before attempting to replenish my energy as I began to feel slightly light headed. I supposed that is why they preach so hard to have a good, balanced breakfast. In any regard, I fashioned a lunch of potato wedges, to continue on my path of poor choices and then carried on with my day. Not surprisingly, my meal did little to rejuvenate my momentum and I found myself bored and alone. I sought solace in distraction, this particular one was an older film called Aeon Flux. It features a young Charlize Theron as a rebel in a futuristic world. I won't divulge any more than that, you can spoil the film on your own if you'd like. It was a welcome escape from reality and I watched it in my bed, which is rare. That led to me falling asleep towards the end. I awoke about forty minutes later to the menu music on a loop. Remember when that used to be a thing? Perhaps it still is, I don't watch a lot of DVDs anymore. Before long, it was time to eat again, how does that keep happening. I had been craving an Asian cuisine buffet all day with the guilty hopes of eating myself unconscious. Since I had already napped I settled for KD instead. It was a tasty trip down memory lane. Next I swung into the Leaf game and watched them demolish the Canucks, using He's Not That Into You as my alternate program. It was a strange choice but there was not much on. Lending to my concept of dropping cable, ideally I could pick the five channels I actually watch regularly and just pay a small fee instead of having to support all these idiotic specialty channels. Rogers calls the shots though and they like the money they get to host those never gonna be watched channels. After the Leafs I went to bed, turning on the dunk contest as it was too early to check out entirely. It was phenomenal! Best one ever likely! A pleasant surprise before my rendezvous with the Sandman to cap off my hybrid Saturday.
