Catalina Wine Mixer
Well, it's over! You likely noticed a palpable absence in my attendance here at theTugboat.ca. I've been a very busy boy lately. The Outdoor Farm Show took place over the last couple of days. For me it was much more than that. There were practice days, tent setup days, fence setup days, final practice days, and at least a visit each week for the whole summer nearly. It all went off without a hitch, well, there were a few minor hitches that had to be erased with mulch and sod when the tent pirates erected tents on wet ground and left unsightly tracks in the well manicured and lush grass that I had spent months prepping for the show. NBD or nothing....
Despite nature and tent pirates attempting to bamboozle us, things ran very smoothly and the feedback and accolades were much more positive this fall. There were two ladies in particular that I have to tip my cap to for their efforts. They dealt more with the logistical side than I did but their effort was in no way more diminished than my own. It is just another complicated endeavour that our solid team in Eastern Canada was able to tackle and execute with maximum efficiency. I did a lot of presenting over the three days. Crowds were not as swollen as we hoped but I had the opportunity to tell my tale to over 1000 people over three days. It was pretty neat. I even got to get mic'd up. The same style of mic that Brittney uses. Yes, the big time. So anyways, that is why I haven't been around as much lately.
That, and it is the outside edge of the harvest season. Pre-harvest notes are in full swing, corn silage is almost wrapped up and soybean harvest is going to start sooner than I could have imagined. I might have a field ready to go by the end of next week. It's almost scary. But let's get it over with and we'll have more time to do analysis and prepare end of the year reports. [in the style of Ric Flair] Whoo!
