Tuesday Thunder
Today was all about anticipation. All day we were stalked by a large weather system. It was predicted to rear it's facade around the lunch hour but only sent out a few probing shots to my region. A couple of jabs at me. I took the first one square on the button. Right in my mouth. I was washing some corn roots off to better see them, like the Wolf's eyes to see Little Red Riding Hood would be. In the midst of spraying and misting water everywhere, the sky opened and a deluge descended upon me. I thought this was it, the forecasted slap of weather from above. I ran around like a fool on dope trying to get everything inside the building. I managed to get it all put away and got soaked in the process. All just in time for the rain to stop completely. Like someone shutting off the tap when you just finished soaping up your hair. The worst part about it was that I knew there would be no drying for the rest of the day. Humid, rain air isn't magnificent for drying clothes. I managed to sneak more outdoor work in before it began in earnest later in the afternoon. It wasn't fooling around that time. The sky was aflame with lightning and thunder threatened to collapse the building. I was worried the power would fail and was working alone at the office so I chose instead to take a safer course and move back to my home office for the last hour of the day. I worked later as a result, something I had been keeping under control.
Being home early, I decided to let loose in the kitchen. I created two meals for later in the week and one for the moment. I shared the info in My Story on Snapchat. I have Snapchat, I got it after I bailed on Facebook. And no, I'm not a 13 year old girl. And I don't use it like a 13 year old girl either. But in other news, I cooked up a storm but was stymied in my coup de gras, I was going to bake a cake! But sadly, I lacked a mixer, so the dream died in the cupboard. I decided to calm my nerves by watching a film. I watched The Drop at the suggestion of both Netflix and one of my kids. It was quite good, I recommend it. But pay attention, look for the subtle notes that an unlicensed PI would see. I better get off to bed.
