Sunny Saturday

I'm back again for another rare morning edition. I might be procrastinating in going to work or I might be excited to update you from last night's post! They seem pretty close together to have anything of value to say but my readers would argue that I don't usually have much to contribute in the way of value, simply the entertainment factor keeps them coming back. Or a sense of loyalty, or more accurately, a constant hounding by me. Irregardless (that's for you She), I am back. I do have something to add to last night's edition. Generally on this weekend or one like it, I am in Kingston to weirdly support two of my cousins and their efforts in the Queen's Commie Alumni Hockey Tournament. The event was a week later this year and that is a week I need to be in the field so I was unable to attend. Their team are the reigning champions and both cousins were a major factor in that triumph. This year the organizers stacked the schedule against them and this gave them little shot at repeating. They have to play nearly back to back games today and got the early game last night. They also have to play the dreaded '08 team in the round robin, a kiss of death for any contender. I am told that the game last night ended in a 1-1 draw so that pretty much sealed their fate. It will be a disappointing year for them, the one tradition that they have upheld since the inception (probably) was a team dinner at Lone Star on Saturday night for fajitas. This won't be possible this year due to selfishly timed renovations of the Lone Star franchise. It takes the regret out of not going for me. I am seemingly missing nothing of significance. I will get the reports as they come in but I can assure you that if I post again later today I can give you the final results for their team as they will surely be eliminated by four o'clock this afternoon. Have a beer for them tonight and remember an unlikely champion being crowned last year. Hell, have two. I probably will. Godspeed.
