Friday Frenzy
I don't know if its just me or if the world waits from Friday to try and get a week's worth of work done but it seems that no matter how much padding I laden my schedule with, I get overwhelmed with incoming emails and requests. It is fairly annoying. I always look forward to a quiet afternoon on Friday. No meetings, no calls, just cruise control into the weekend while getting something ready for next week. NOPE! People just keep on coming. The worst of the worst are the ones that drop it in at 4pm. What were they doing that they couldn't do it sooner. Probably scrambling to get things done then when they hit their easy patch in the afternoon they go back over the small stuff and send those things out. I like to stay on top of email, something that seems to be more and more uncommon. Wow, that really turned into a rant flavour.
This weekend I will be working, orienting our new crop of summer assistants. Acclimatizing them to our corporate culture. Teaching them the ways of the field. It will be two days of wall to wall presentations that they will likely forget before returning to their regular routine on Monday morning. But we'll have checked the box that they are informed. Asses covered. I'll score a couple of nice meals in the arrangement so not all is a loss. It does affect the speed at which I can complete season three of House of Cards. I'm about half done to date. I hope to finish before Monday. I completed X-Files and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt this week. I hope to keep up the good work before spring takes over my life. Happy hunting?
