The Move
Despite the busy time of year and the hanging in there, I managed to accidentally wake up an hour early today so I'm using it to relate the major maneuver from the weekend. I don't recall much of Friday other than working at the Farm, trying to button it up for winter, but I do recall cashing in early so that I could rise before the tides and get a jump on the day. The day would be a big one as it turned out. It was moving day. Moving day for the Cheese and Two Glasses of Wine. They were moving into their own home. A very impressive feat in of itself. They would leave their old apartment behind in a cloud of snow. A happy accident happened the night before when the company from whom the moving truck was rented no longer had the reserved size. They were forced to provide a much bigger truck for the same price. I went early to make a run with Cheese before 2GW and her parents arrived with the truck. After they did indeed arrive it took only an hour to pack their life into that truck. And only ninety minutes to deliver their new life to their new dwelling, nay, new home. It is a lovely home with some sweet features. I snapped a few photos to share of the process. It was very smooth and had almost no bumps in the road. I was rewarded for my efforts with food and drink but in reality the satisfaction of helping a friend was all I really needed. It was a long but enjoyable day capped off with a toast among friends. The only downside was the overly intense return trip to the Harbour. Mother Nature spewed out a beautifully dangerous drop of snow to impede my progress. I made it home in good time and settled in for a cold winter's eve by the fire, or in this case, heater.
